Scooters for getting places

Commuter and big wheel scooters, built for footpaths and getting places. Five of them, sized from a five year old up to a fully grown adult.

MADD GEAR METRO GLIDE 300 BLACK / GREEN

Commuter and big wheel scooters

Bigger wheels. Folds. Bars that grow.

Bigger wheels roll straight over footpath cracks, driveways and grass seams. Most of them fold for the boot, and the bars adjust, so one scooter lasts years rather than a season.

The folding ones go in the boot, onto the bus or the train, and under a desk at work or in the garage at home.

These are made for getting places. If it is jumps and kerbs they are after, our pro scooters are built for exactly that.

Paths

Kruzer 200 · Urban Renegade

Paths and light chip

Metro Cruise 250. The front suspension is what does it.

Paths, gravel and grass

Metro Glide 300, and the Metro Mini Glide 150 for ages 5 to 8. Air tyres keep going where the others stop.

Measure to the waist

Floor to their waist. Match it to the bar height. Done.

Bars should sit at the waist. Not stretched out, not up by the face.

Metro Cruise 250The family one

Ages 8 to adult · riders 127–188cm · folds

Metro Cruise 250

  • 200mm PU wheels, front suspension, front guard
  • Standing plate 34 × 11.5cm
  • Rear foot brake

Metro Glide 300The comfortable one

Ages 8 to adult · riders 127–188cm · does not fold

Metro Glide 300

This is where it comes into its own. 12 inch air filled tyres take on proper gravel and grass, not just paths. Gravel driveway, the grass verge, the track through the park. The Cruise 250 takes light chip in its stride. This one goes further again.

  • Fixed bar at 100.3cm
  • 12" air filled tyres
  • Rear hand brake
  • Biggest standing plate, 37 × 12cm
  • Up to 136kg
  • Does not fold
Fixed bar, and it does not fold. That is exactly what makes the ride this smooth. Metro Glide 300 and Urban Vibe are the same scooter, different colours.

Urban RenegadeThe sharp one

Ages 8 to adult · riders 127–188cm · folds

Urban Renegade

Neochrome, and light enough to carry. A carbon steel frame that weighs just 5.45kg, so a kid can take it up steps or onto the bus themselves.

  • Bar 88–100cm, three stage
  • 200mm PU wheels
  • Standing plate 34 × 11.5cm
  • Rear foot brake, kickstand
  • Quick lock fold · no front guard

Out of the box

A bit of building, and we give you everything for it

Every scooter needs some assembly. The tools and the manual are in the box, and there is a build video for each one below if you would rather watch than read.

And wear a helmet. We would say that anyway. We also sell them, and one that actually fits matters far more than what is printed on the side.

Questions we get asked

The things people ask before they buy

What size should I get?

Measure from the floor to the rider’s waist while they stand on flat ground, then pick the scooter whose bar height is closest to that. The bars should sit around waist height when they ride, not stretched out and not up near the face.

Age is a rough guide. Height is the real answer.

Can adults ride them?

Four of the five, yes. The Kruzer 200, Urban Renegade and Metro Cruise 250 suit riders from 127cm up to 188cm, and the Metro Glide 300 does too. The Metro Cruise takes up to 113kg and the Metro Glide up to 136kg.

Only the Metro Mini Glide 150 is a kids’ scooter, at ages 5 to 8.

Does it arrive built?

There is a bit of assembly on every scooter, and everything you need is in the box: the tools and the manual. There is a build video on YouTube for each one, so you can watch rather than read if that is easier. The Metro Mini Glide 150 is new and has no video of its own yet: it goes together like the Metro Glide 300, so use that one.

Can they take it to the skatepark?

These are built for getting places. The wheels, decks and forks on a commuter are made for distance and comfort rather than landing drops.

For the skatepark, our pro scooters are the ones built for it.

We have a gravel driveway. Which one?

The Metro Glide 300, or the Metro Mini Glide 150 for ages 5 to 8. Their air tyres are the only ones in the range that handle proper gravel and grass.

The Metro Cruise 250 handles light or fine chip paths thanks to its front suspension. The Kruzer 200 and Urban Renegade are happiest on paths.

Do they fold?

The Kruzer 200, Urban Renegade and Metro Cruise 250 fold. A folding scooter goes in the boot, onto the bus or train, and under a desk at work or in the garage at home.

The Metro Glide 300 does not. It has a fixed bar, which is part of what gives it the smoothest ride of the five. The Metro Mini Glide 150 does not fold either.

What brakes do they have?

A rear foot press brake on the Kruzer 200, Urban Renegade and Metro Cruise 250. Step on it and it stops.

The Metro Glide 300 and Urban Vibe use a rear hand brake instead. The Metro Mini Glide 150 has a rear hand brake.

Do they need a helmet?

We think so, and we sell them. Getting one that actually fits matters far more than what is printed on the side.
